CVE-2026-44843
📛 CVE Title
(no title)
Description
LangChain vulnerable to unsafe deserialization of attacker-controlled objects through overly broad `load()` allowlists
Description (MITRE) cveawg.mitre.org
Pulled from cveawg.mitre.org/api/cve/CVE-2026-44843 on 2026-07-28. Shown when MITRE's text differs from the cvelistV5 mirror.
LangChain is a framework for building agents and LLM-powered applications. Prior to 0.3.85 and 1.3.3, LangChain contains older runtime code paths that deserialize run inputs, run outputs, or other application-controlled payloads using overly broad object allowlists. These paths may call load() with allowed_objects="all". This does not enable arbitrary Python object deserialization, but it does allow any trusted LangChain-serializable object to be revived, which is broader than these runtime paths require. As a result, attacker-supplied LangChain serialized constructor dictionaries may cause trusted runtime paths to instantiate classes with untrusted constructor arguments. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.3.85 and 1.3.3.

The most important thing CVE-2026-44843 points to is a design principle that gets violated quietly across a lot of modern AI stacks. In AI frameworks, the boundary between data and behavior is a security boundary. A chat message is not always just text. A trace is not always just observability data. A memory entry is not always passive history.

Vulnerability mitigation is typically considered a temporary or interim solution. While mitigation measures can reduce the immediate risk associated with vulnerabilities, they may not provide a permanent fix . Organizations should aim to prioritize and plan for complete vulnerability remediation whenever feasible and allocate resources accordingly.
